The USA Track & Field has announced that it has approved the transfer of long-distance runner Weini Kerati’s allegiance application and will be able to compete at 10,000 meters for women.

Kerati was born in Eritrea and later competed in Heritage High School in Leesburg, Virginia. She ran at the University of New Mexico and was a female athlete of the year at the Mountain West Conference in 2019-20. She was the NCAA National Champion at 10,000 meters in 2019.

The women’s 10,000 meters final is Saturday.
